Improving health and social care

In healthcare, intelligent health monitoring of patients can be used to predict and prevent problems. In care for the elderly, IVAs can provide help and support to elderly people living alone through voice interactions. When connected to devices through the IoT they can also provide phygital services, such as switching home devices on and off on command or, according to schedules, provide physical security and alerting systems around the home, as well as checking the well-being of the elderly resident. The latter can be done by detecting changes in the patterns of movement around the home. A lack of movement might indicate a fall or other health problems and a relative or carer could be alerted to check on the elderly resident.
